Easter on Rügen

Judith invited Pauli and me to spend Easter with her and her family on Rügen on a village called Kasselvitz where Judith grew up.
First Pauli and I planned to take the bikes there and a have a bike trip on Saturday but we figured that the trains might be crowded and we would have a hard time changing trains with our bikes. Our alternative plan was to borrow bikes from Judith's parents and their neighbors but unfortunately the weather was so bad that we only went for a little walk through the village. The rest of the Saturday we spent inside playing games, reading and eating. We started drinking early and continued playing games. Judith's father decided to have a barbecue and he grilled sausages and meat even though it was snowing outside.

On Easter Sunday the weather was better than excepted. So Judith, Alexander, and we canceled our plan to go to the Meeresmuseum in Stralsund and went to the beach in Prora instead. On our way back be had ice cream in Putbus. Back in Kasselvitz Johanna hid easter eggs in the garden which we then tried to find like it is tradition in Germany, at least when you are a kid. Another easter tradition is to have a bonfire on the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Since the weather was so terrible on Saturday we postponed the fire to Saturday evening. We didn't spend much time outside because it was so could that not even the Glühwein could warm us.

Easter Monday Pauli and I headed back to Oldenburg with lots of chocolate eggs in our bags.
