Anchorage and Fairbanks

Our second day in Anchorage was really nice. First we rented bikes to ride along the Tony Knowles Trail which is a 30km (there and back) long and which runs along the coast. The scenery was beautiful. On our way back we saw a male moose. It was standing right in the middle of our trail eating some branches. After a while the moose left the trail and we could go on.
Afterwards we took a bus to the botanical garden but there were so many mosquitos that we didn't stay there very long.

This morning we flew to Fairbanks. The flight was really nice because the pilot flew right next to the Mount McKinley. The view was gorgeous!
Fairbanks itself is not enormous. The downtown area is quiet boring but that is not what we are here for. We planned to do some hiking tomorrow and visit a museum on Alaskan history.

I like the photos very much. Especially the landscape indeed is absolutely impressive.
So: go on posting as much photos as you can and keep us posted!
