10 year anniversary

It has been 10 years since we - Svenja and us - went to Alaska where we became friends with Ryan. Last weekend we met in Witten because Ryan is living in Barcelona at the moment and it would have been such a pity not to meet because Spain is so close to Germany, compared to the USA, that is.

We arrived at Friday evening, talked, had some snack and went to a pub. 10 years ago that would have been impossible!

The next we had a typical German breakfast with bread rolls after which we needed some time to digest. So the running we had planned had to be delayed. This time we used playing Stadt Land Fluß (City Country River) which Pauli lost miserably. At least we could beat him in one game!

For the run we picked up Ole, Svenja's father's Tibetan Terrier. It was great running together. Almost like in Alaska when we ran in the cross country running team together.Just the pine tree forest and the hills were missing....

Hungry from the run we prepared Taco Salad that brought up Alaska memories at least for the three of us. Pauli had missed out before. Again for digestion we played games. This time it was Läpsy, a Finnish card game where we didn't succeed beating Pauli.

Sunday all we got to do before Pauli had to catch his train home (working life sucks!) was going for a walk. Ole and Arno (Svenja's boyfriend) joint us. It was a long and nice walk through a forest near by. We saw fox holes, cows, more cows and more cows. And some horses. Svenja was lucky and found the most beautiful little mushroom in the whole forest. Unfortunately, it was not enough to prepare for supper for all of us!

Luckly, we were invited by Svenja's mother to have dinner. Again, Pauli missed out due to his departure. At Svenja's mother's a 3 course meal and wine were waiting for us. It was good food and we had a nice time there.

Back Svenja's we finished the nice weekend by relaxing, except Svenja who still had to do some homework (being a student sucks!)
